The Story
Alexandra grew up on Warilda, a 40,000 acre cattle station in south-west Queensland, Australia. Living an hour from the nearest town, Charleville, she was homeschooled until she was 13 years old. This is where her passion for animals began, observing and interacting with them, she began to learn about animal behaviour from an exceptionally young age. She worked with many animals on the property including; cattle, sheep, goats, and of course, horses. This was where her passion for animals was born.
ALEXANDRA HINDLE
Proudly sixth generation working and training horses in her family, Alexandra grew up learning everything to know about horses; handling yearlings, working horses with cattle and competing in "campdrafting". Her father saw that from a very young age, Alexandra had a special understanding and patience for horses, especially nervous or difficult ones. She was able to calm nervous horses and gain a mutual respect for the challenging horses.
Mexico
When Alexandra turned 24 years old, she moved to Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. She was introduced to the world of 'Alta escuela' and trick training, when she obtained her first Mexican horse, Kalimba, an Andalusian x Arabian gelding. Easily the most difficult and reactive horse she had ever worked on, but definitely the most intelligent.
One day Alexandra and Kalimba went on a trial ride (with hundreds of other riders) and saw a person flog and continuously spur an Andalusian stallion to make him 'dance'. Witnessing the barbaric act, she knew there had to be more natural horsemanship and better training methods for the Mexican horse culture. That week, she began training Kalimba in liberty and riding with a neck rope. Two months later, she went on her first large trail ride with Kalimba bareback and without a bridle. Hoping it would demonstrate what was possible without violence, Kalimba and Alexandra put on their first liberty horse show in Aquismon, July 2018.
After 6 months participating in horse shows with "Cuadra Vieyra", she decided it was time to leave the Huasteca Potosina, and moved to Texcoco (close to Mexico City) to become a professor and horse trainer at the prestigious Alta Escuela Pedro Domecq.
Alexandra and Kalimba traveled through Mexico presenting shows with Domecq until she decided she wanted to continue focusing more on natural horsemanship and help the Mexican horse culture evolve. With over 55 participants at her Domecq clinic, she left with a bang, and Hindle Horsemanship was born.
Alexandra quickly began to expand her team of horses, with the addition of Gaia, Dictador, Frijol and Guajiro. The 'Hindle Horse Show' has traveled to numerous regions of the country presenting incredible liberty and natural horsemanship shows. Alexandra has also provided private and public clinics in Mexico as well as other countries, including; the United States of America, and Guatemala. Alexandra's clinics include numerous different areas such as; starting and handling, natural horsemanship in general, liberty, trick training and working with 'problem' horses.
